Also known
as abdominoplasty, a full tummy tuck is a better option for
those in need of more extensive treatment to get the results
they desire. During the full tummy tuck procedure at our
Alabama practice, an incision is made across the abdomen from
one hipbone to the other, and the resulting flap of skin is
gently folded down.
Excess fat,
tissue, and skin are then trimmed away, and underlying muscles
are tightened and set in place. In the next step of the tummy
tuck procedure, the flap is replaced, and the incision is
sutured closed. Although side effects-bruising, swelling,
discomfort- from a tummy tuck will occur, most subside within
a few weeks' time.
